Many groups have slowly moved southward over the last 2,000 yΓ¨ars in response to pressures from the north and the promise of a more prosperous land in the south.The Tuareg people are a large Berber (Amazighs)ethnic confederation. They principally inhabit the Sahara in a vast area stretching from far southwestern Libya πŸ‡±πŸ‡Ύ to southern Algeria πŸ‡©πŸ‡Ώ Niger πŸ‡³πŸ‡ͺ Mali πŸ‡²πŸ‡± and Burkina Faso πŸ‡§πŸ‡« Traditionally nomadic pastoralists.
